Important Tournament Notes

The tournament committee welcomes all of our members, new and returning, to another year of golf at your club, Ould Newbury.

SPECIAL NOTE: pace of play is crucial. All players are encouraged to arrive at the club 20 minutes prior to tee time. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Should a player be late for tee off time, penalty strokes will be assessed.

TOURNAMENT STARTING TIMES: based on tournament participation and the pro's recommendation, tee times could be as early as 6:30 am.

Senior tee's are available on the course. In order to use these tees, you must be 65 years of age or older, and your age plus your handicap must equal 80 or higher. These tees will not be used for tournament play.

The tournament schedule is subject to change. Notices will be posted on the bulletin board three weeks prior to the upcoming event, on Saturday by noon time. The one exception is the sign up for the labor day 4-ball, which will be posted on July 28th.

Member / guest tournaments: players who do not have a valid handicap will play in the Callaway division.

The handicap committee has decided to post and count the Thursday night nine hole combined scores towards member handicaps and all Ould Newbury Golf Club events. Participants in the men's and women's president cup must post a minimum of ten rounds at ONGC by July 30th.

The Labor Day 4 ball will again be pick your own partner. The signup sheet will be posted on July 28th. Should the number of teams be greater than the 32 team limit, a qualifying round will be played on august 18th.

The club championship will be stroke play this year. A blind draw will be conducted within your handicap flight for q-rounds. The same will apply to the presidents cup. Tee times will be assigned for am and pm play. Also, in these two tournaments, players will swap cards within their groups and must attest and sign their cards at the end of the round.

For seniors, as in the past, the first two rounds of the club championship will determine the senior champ among those seniors who sign up.
