ONGC Ladies – First Place in in WGAM Dolly Sullivan

Congratulations to the Ould Newbury Ladies’ team of Louise Healey, Jane MacDonald, Nancy Holt and Cindy Rodzen, for winning Low Net in the first group of the annual Dolly Sullivan Tournament sponsored by the WGAM!

The Dolly Sullivan tournament was held today at Sterling National Country Club in Sterling, MA. Twenty teams competed in a 4 person best-ball format. The ONGC team posted a net score of 59, with a gross score of 77 on the par 71 track. They were just one shot back of the low gross team, which shot a 76.

Each member of the team won an engraved crystal pitcher. If their low net score of 59 holds for the remaining 3 groups of players, they will also receive Dolly Sullivan clocks engraved with their names. A total of 84 teams are scheduled to play in the event.

Way to go ONGC Ladies!!!

Ladies’ League Meeting

Please mark your calendars for the Ladies’ League meeting scheduled for Monday, August 18th at 7 p.m.

The primary reason for this meeting will be your vote on which playing format you would like for the Ladies’ Four Ball tournament, on August 26-28. Sue Page, Club Tournament Chairperson, has presented 3 methods for us to choose from:

  1. Hi – Lo, which pairs the Highest Handicap player with the Lowest Handicap player in descending order within each division or flight (A, B, C, etc.)  That means in a field of 12 players,  # 1 plays with # 12; # 2 plays with # 11; # 3 plays with # 10, etc.
  2. Pick your Partner within your division
  3. Blind Draw – Names are paired within each division by being drawn out of a hat

If you cannot attend the meeting but would still like to vote, please email Mary Leary at mel4148@comcast.net to enter an absentee vote.
